By Ewah Ofodire, Innocent.
There are people considered heroes, who are everyday real people; who step up to the challenges of their people and help others when they are in need. Stories and articles have been published over time navigating the tantalizing citations of “Heroes and Legendary”, but none seem to surgically expound on the exceptional touching qualities of a living legend.
As human destiny is incompressible, so is a good man; his good works, his kindness and largeness of heart. He doesn’t find pleasure in the distress of his people. He finds satisfaction in the prosperity and contentment of his people.
Comrade Chinedu Ogah, OON, is a” living legend and a hero” who people have bestowed upon, the crown which comes with the maxim above. This shrewd Industrialist wears no air and exudes non; no wonder the title; “Ikukuoma “.
The more he tries to remain unassuming by avoiding the spotlight, the more his selfless service to humanity and God; his kind and golden heart lay him bare and drag him to the public arena for unsolicited commendations.
Leadership in the political framework and in the real sense of it, requires focus on the long-term good of the people, and ahead of any personal short-term gains. Good political leadership requires a combination of charisma and integrity, as well as the ability to assess a situation and make a decision based on what would be best for the greater number of people.
Comrade Ogah has manifested his outstanding and distinguished integrity and his ubiquitous knowledge in Governance, Management, and Administration by fulfilling a greater percentage of his campaign promises and the confidence the people reposed on him as the Member Representing Ezza south /Ikwo Constituency of Ebonyi State at the Federal House of Representatives.
He has within few months in the National Assembly, affected the dispatching of Youths for Army training in Zaria, attracted Federal Government slots to deserving persons into various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, payment of WAEC registration fees for over 800 students drawn from Ebonyi Central zone, distributed over 100 motorcycles to indigent constituents.
Also, he has distributed over 20 tricycles, cassava processing machines, resuscitated the dilapidated transformers in Ikwo and Ezza South and subsequently paid the accumulated EEDC bills in the constituency, distributed millions of naira to business-minded persons, awarded over 50 persons scholarship to pursue their Master’s Degree/Undergraduate program at different Universities.
Furthermore, he has equally effected the release of persons under illegal detention, constructed over ten (10) bridges, empowered one thousand and thirty (1,030) Women and Youths under the Micro Enterprises Enhancing Scheme, Cash Transfer/Distribution of Relief Materials to his Constituents to cushion the effects of the dreaded COVID-19 Pandemic, restoration of peace to waring communities, effected the recall of Ebonyi soldiers who were on illegal suspension, sponsored bills and moved Motions, including the Motion for the Construction of a Link Bridge and Rehabilitation of the Abakaliki-Ikwo-Obubara Road, Motion on the need to halt the increase in tariff of Dstv Multichoice Satellite television, Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo Act (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (HB.768), Federal Polytechnics Act (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (HB.769), Motion for the Provision of Agricultural Palliatives to Ebonyi State and many more.
Chinedu is an unassuming young man who mingles with the lowly and the downtrodden without bigotry or taunts. He is a workaholic, a business czar, Corporate tiger, a true definition and reflection of Human Capacity Builder, an astute Politician, a Farmer, a Microbiologist, a Political gearbox and sits atop multi-million dollars conglomerate spanning several interests. He is a tested Industrialist and an Achiever, a Job Creator, a Political Crankshaft, an Employer of Labour, and a Philanthropist. He is a man of great wits and wisdom, an accomplished and committed Doyen.
Following his enormous contributions to Society, avalanche of unsolicited Awards and Honour from individuals, Corporate Organizations, Religious bodies, Government and Academic Institutions have come his way.
A few years back, the Nigerian Government through its National Honours Act, bestowed on him, the prestigious ORDER OF NIGER (OON) Award in recognition of his strides in the Corporate World and contribution to the economic growth of the country.
His rise to the top was not a one-step movement. It was a humble beginning for a humble man. The inter of factors that would establish him as one of Nigeria’s reputable Captains of Industry, shaped his principle and philosophy of life and business acume, honesty, and hard work. His unassuming nature and infectious humility explain why he doesn’t trumpet his numerous philanthropic gestures. For what he is worth, he has been a blessing to humanity.
Comr. Chinedu Ogah has indeed made a huge and indelible mark in the pebble of time and in the Political Arena of the country. His contributions to the economic growth of his fatherland are undeniably superlative. When we look at his litany of legacies, we are deeply strengthened. As we keep reciting the litany of the blessed, we pray for more wisdom as he mounts the Legislative Podium to administer Policies, Programs and Bills for the greater good of the people of his Constituency and beyond.
Long Live Comrade Ogah!
Long live EzzaSouth/Ikwo Constituency!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
